5 Ways with Strawberries
You loved our five ways with ice cream blog post last week, so today on the My Appliances site we’re bringing you a similar article but with a fun, Wimbledon twist. Oh yes!
If you’ve been tuning into the action recently, we bet you’ve done so with a bowl of strawberries and cream in hand – well you’ve just got to, haven’t you? But if you’re already sick of the sight of the traditionally British dessert, we’re bringing you five ways you can still enjoy a strawberry or two during the tournament. Don’t say we never give you anything – here are some recipes you’ll love…
Strawberry Tart with Lavender and Honey Cream
Oo-er, this one sounds a bit of alright doesn’t it? Thanks to BBC Good Food, you can whip up a dessert-making frenzy in the kitchen with this rather la-de-dah sounding pudding you can enjoy with a game of tennis.

The website says to assemble this deliciously moreish tart just before serving to prevent soggy pastry – because, let’s face it, no one wants that!
Light and Airy Strawberry Mousse

Trying to be healthy ahead of your summer holiday? There aren’t too many calories at all in a strawberry mousse. Plus, because it’s good for you, you can have twice as much. We jest of course but it really isn’t too bad an option if you’re watching your waist line.
Strawberry Scones

You thought it couldn’t get more quintessentially British than strawberries and cream. Cue the strawberry scone…
Natasha via the blog Natasha’s Kitchen says: “You’ve probably eaten scones, but have you tried making them? There’s nothin’ to it! And the greatest part is, once you have a basic scone recipe, you can make it a hundred different ways; everything from dessert scones to savory biscuits. “
Seriously, a cheese scone followed by a strawberry one is heaven in food form. Oh and once it’s scone it’s scone. Boom, tish!
Jamie Oliver’s Strawberry Trifles

Ready in mere minutes, Jamie Oliver’s individual strawberry trifles are the perfect post-dinner treat. Alternatively, enjoy one in front of the tennis or make a few ahead of a summer soiree or barbecue – your guests will love you for it.
Jamie recommends you use clear trifle glasses (what else?!) so you can see the dessert’s wonderful layers. We’re sold!
Strawberry Roulade

In their online recipe, Tesco has used a mix of raspberries and strawberries to make this tasty-looking roulade. We say substitute the raspberries for even more strawberries and tuck in while taking in a TV-based match.
Taking just 30 minutes to prepare and only 15 to cook, you can get this ready in under an hour – ideal if you’ve got friends popping round with very little pre-warning. Serve with double cream or a dollop of ice cream, whichever takes your fancy.
