Breakfast Ideas for Summer
Fed up of your usual cereal or toast for breakie? We hear you. That’s why, here on the My Appliances site today, we’re bringing you a round-up of our favourite summer-inspired recipes from around the net. Read on…
Orange and Dark Chocolate Yoghurt Bowl
This one sounds right up our street, we’re not going to lie. It’s pretty healthy too, thanks to the porridge oats, yoghurt, oranges and nuts it contains. It only features a small amount of choc, too – give the BBC Good Food a recipe a go, just head here for the method.
Blackberry Pancakes
Sure, it doesn’t have a fancy name, but it’s a delightful summery breakfast idea. These fluffy blackberry pancakes are extremely tasty and perfect for vegans too. Bursting with seasonal flavour, the pancakes feature juicy berries, and they take just 15 minutes to prepare. Head to the Veggie Desserts site for the full recipe.
You could also try this recipe for waffles with blackberries, if you fancy a change. These are vanilla waffles (below) and they’re bound to bring something unique to your breakfast table.
Strawberry Smoothie
Want to add a couple of your ‘five-a-day’ into your first meal after you roll out of bed in the morning? If so, try this simple yet tasty strawberry smoothie recipe. Prep time is just five minutes and the smoothie contains banana, strawberries and orange juice. It’s free of dairy, too, so vegans will enjoy this recipe just as much as the pancakes (above).
Breakfast Egg Cups
A modern twist on a traditional fry-up, these breakfast egg cups are great to prepare when you have guests round, as they look like something you’d see in a fancy restaurant but are really easy to prepare.
Ideal when you’d like something light for breakie, the egg cups can be made in a simple muffin tin. You’ll need eggs (of course!) and any veg or meat. We like bacon with our egg cups, but you could try sausage – or whatever you fancy really. Why not prep a batch in advance – they’re the ideal grab-and-go breakfast, says the Feel Good Foodie site.
Peaches and Cream Smoothie Bowls
Sweet breakfasts feature highly on our blog because, well, we do have a sweet tooth! We hope you do as well, because these peaches and cream smoothie bowls are to die for – especially during the summer months. Use the freshest peaches you can find and tuck into this summery breakfast any day of the week. Best enjoyed: outside on your patio or in your garden (if you have one).
