Single oven buyers guide

Gas Oven:

There are fewer gas ovens on the market these day’s but they have some really good cooking advantages.

Because the heat generated from the gas flame is moister it is particularly good for batch cooking cakes which will not dry out.

The gas oven does not have a fan to circulate the heat and will be warmer the higher a shelf is positioned in the cavity.

They can be fitted in a tall oven housing or built under oven housing.

The dimensions of each oven will be found in the instruction manual provided.

Electric Oven:

An electric oven will generally offer a wider range of features than a gas oven and much more flexibility than gas.

All electric ovens that are either fan or fan assisted cooking will also help to have a more even baking temperature around the cavity as the air is circulated more freely.

Conventional Electric Oven:

This type of oven features top and bottom elements but no fan assisted function. This means that positioning food around the oven and shelf position will affect cooking performance as the hot air will rise to the top of the cavity.

Fan assisted oven:

An added rear fan will circulate the hot air around the cavity more easily and this type of oven does not need pre-heating.

True fan oven:

The is an added rear resistance heating element around the fan which greatly reduces cooking times and cooking temperature and time can be reduced by 20% vs a fan assisted oven.

Multifunction oven:

These are for the more discerning cook that wants more functions to control the cooking process better.

Some of our multifunction ovens have 13 cooking functions!

Size matters:

We stock ovens ranging from 58 Litres to a whopping 80 Litres.

Oven capacity is measured in Litres and the size of your oven will dictate hoy much food you can cook at once.

Ovens of 65 Litres and over are great for multi shelf cooking and larger family or keen cooks.
